In these challenging times, the need for our daughter Uma has never been greater. Her return is not just an event, it is a divine coming. Uma, the goddess, the force of nature, the mother, is returning to us. Her arrival heralds the beginning of the grandest celebration for Bengalis—a celebration of love, faith, and the eternal bond between a mother and her children. Through this festival, Bengalis also draw the strength to stand against injustice, falsehood, and suffering. To honour her homecoming, we present "Uma: Amar Ghorer Meye" — a heartfelt tribute that will stir your soul before the festivities begin. The day will be filled with entertainment, offering the audience a taste of Bengali history and tradition.
The event will open with a collective recitation of the Sharadiya theme, performed by the elocutionists of Antorik. In the ‘Uma-Menaka Sambad,’ Debolina Ghosh will regale us with an agomoni song. Madhumita Basu and Biswajit Chakraborty will take us through Uma's daily life in an audio drama. The event will conclude with a powerful dance drama, titled "Rani" by Pushpak Dance Academy, showcasing the heroic saga of women’s strength.
