Jouthojapon — an evening wrapped in warmth and togetherness, organized by Sodepur Rik, will be held on Saturday, 28th March at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata, at 5:00 PM.

The first segment of the evening will feature the songs of Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore along with the stories behind those songs.

Renowned singer Kanchanmala Ghosh will present the Rabindra Sangeet, while the stories and insights behind the songs will be narrated by eminent elocutionist Shri Sumantra Sengupta.

This segment, titled “Sundar He Sundar”, will be illuminated in the essence of Rabindranath’s musical and poetic world.

The second segment of the evening will feature celebrated elocutionist Mousumi Mitra (Pal). Through poems of various poets and stories and letters from different writers, she will present a journey of life—from childhood to the present day—woven through poetry.

She will share moments of mischief, love, the spirit of the nation, protest, and the journey from darkness to hope.

This presentation, enriched with recitation, theatre, music, and lighting, is titled “Shobdo Snato Ek Jibon” (A Life Bathed in Words).

Join Kanchanmala and Mousumi in this shared celebration of art and life on Saturday, 28th March at Rabindra Sadan.

The evening’s narrative will be woven by eminent poet and filmmaker Kaushik Sengupta.
